Leandro Trossard had been linked with a summer exit but has now sealed a new deal with the 'Gunners', despite the signings of the Swede and Madueke.
Despite significant talk of his departure this summer, especially with the arrival of players like Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke, the forward has decided to remain at Arsenal and will fight for a spot in the attack, at least for this season.
Trossard signs new contract
According to The Athletic, via Abola, the Belgian has finally reached an agreement with the club after lengthy talks throughout the summer, but with a curious twist: the 30-year-old athlete only received a 'significant' pay rise and did not extend his contract with the Gunners, which still expires in two years, in June 2027.
Last season, Trossard scored ten goals and provided ten assists in 56 games, playing across all attacking positions.
However, in the 2025/26 season, he will face increased competition, adding to the existing challenge from Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, and the injured Gabriel Jesus, as well as Nwaneri.
In the first official match of the new season at Old Trafford against Manchester United (1-0), now managed by Rúben Amorim, the former Brighton player did not leave the bench, being the only available attacker not to feature.
