Mason Greenwood Masterclass: Man United outcast scores two, assists another in thrilling Getafe win

Mason Greenwood made a triumphant return to the scoresheet, netting a brace and providing an assist as Getafe secured a 3-1 victory over Almeria on Saturday.

The Manchester United outcast, who is currently on loan at the Spanish club, had gone five matches without finding the back of the net for the Blues in LALIGA. 

However, he emphatically rediscovered his scoring touch, delivering a complete performance to help Getafe end their recent winless run.

Greenwood opened the scoring for the home side in the first half and then doubled their advantage in the second, showcasing the clinical finishing that had made him a rising star at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old then turned provider, setting up Getafe's third goal for Mata to seal the three points for his side.

The display will be a welcome boost for Greenwood whose performance on Saturday was a timely reminder of his undoubted talent and potential, as he looks to reignite his career away from the scrutiny of the Premier League.
