Liverpool target Inter star for key position
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella as they look to strengthen their midfield in the coming summer transfer window.
With Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Arthur Melo set to leave the club at the end of the season, the Reds are expected to make significant investments in the middle of the park, and Barella is one of the figures they are monitoring.
Barella to Liverpool
Following the club's backing out of the race for Jude Bellingham due to his high price, Jurgen Klopp's side have been linked with a number of midfield targets.
The 26-year-old Italy international is one of them, and according to Teamtalk, Liverpool have recently sent scouts to watch the midfielder play, and they will also be keeping an eye on his performance in the UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Milan.
The reports also quoted Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who said:
“They came here to see him face Lazio. I don’t know if Liverpool will get him, I don’t know if Inter will sell him, but I can say Liverpool is one of the most interested clubs looking at Barella.
“It’s normal because Barella is the Italian guy with skills, with the mind, with technical ability, everything. He can play in every league.”
With Nerazzurri's financial instability, Barella could be one of the talents sacrificed for solvency.
