Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly set to enter the race to sign Paris Saint Germain’s wantaway star Kylian Mbappe.
Liverpool eye Mbappe move
The Merseysiders are believed to be preparing a bid to rival LaLiga titans Real Madrid, who are believed to be the frontrunners in the race for Mbappe’s signature.
Despite stating his intentions to remain with PSG this summer, Mbappe is being forced out of the club, which hopes to avoid losing the French star on a free transfer when his contract runs out in 2024.
Mbappe’s refusal to sign a new deal at PSG has led to him becoming a prime target for a number of teams and he only recently rejected a world-record move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal re-iterating his desire to stay in France until next summer.
Liverpool move solves Mbappe and PSG conundrum
The French international captain could be tempted to change his stance, however, as English side Liverpool enter the race for the superstar’s signature, albeit on loan.
According to reports in England, Liverpool have offered to solve Mbappe and PSG’s issues in one fell swoop by offering a lucrative loan fee for the star forward.
The striker could go on loan to Merseyside and still be in contention for a move to Real Madrid next summer, which is believed to be his preferred destination.
Mbappe could be tempted to accept a move to Liverpool thanks to family interests, with the PSG star’s mother reportedly a fan of the Reds.
