Summer acquisition Alexis Mac Allister walked off the field during halftime of Liverpool's friendly match against Bayern Munich.

The World Cup winner has been exceptional for Liverpool during their pre-season friendlies and looking sharp ahead of the new season.

However, he picked up a knock and was substituted before halftime after colliding with a player.

Mac Allister injury 

Liverpool were in action against Bayern Munich during a preseason friendly in which Mac Allister picked up an injury.

According to Daily Mail, the teams were tied at 2-2 just before the halftime whistle when Mac Allister collapsed in pain, with Andy Robertson immediately calling for the physio.  

The Argentine hit Konrad Laimer of Bayern with his knee, which triggered the attention of the Liverpool medical team.

The World Cup winner was assisted back to his feet but then leapt off, and manager Jurgen Klopp was forced to make substitutions before halftime in order to avoid taking any further chances.

Gakpo took Mac Allister's place in the middle during the halftime adjustments, with Nunez spearheading the attack up top.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool the lead after two minutes, and everything had been looking up for them.

Matters improved further when Virgil van Dijk, recently named as permanent captain, made it 2-0 inside the first half hour.

But, Bayern, under Thomas Tuchel, came back strongly, cutting the lead in half, first through Serge Gnarby and then through Leroy Sane.
