After enduring a disastrous spell with Tanzanian outfit Azam FC, Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna has bid farewell to the club.

Since making the move to Azam back in July 2021, Muguna has been on the periphery and has been handed limited playing time by the 2016 Tanzanian champions.

The former Gor Mahia captain took to Twitter to announce his departure from Azam, adding that he was delighted to be part of the club during his two-year stint.

“It was a great experience, I enjoyed those 2 years #AdiosAzam,” read a post from the 27-year-old midfielder.

Muguna failed to link up with Harambee Stars despite being included in the provisional squad that is slated for the Four Nations Series in Mauritius.

He was axed from the final 23-man squad that jetted off to the island nation but explained that he had a chat with the coach and failed to honour the call up due to unavoidable circumstances.

“I couldn’t make it to the National Team camp due to unavoidable circumstances, I had a conversation with the head coach and I am happy he understood the situation. I can’t wait to represent the country again in our future assignments,” wrote Muguna.

The former Western Stima midfielder was overlooked in the matchday squad on Monday as Azam FC lost 1-0 to Yanga in the Azam Sports Federation Cup final.

Muguna’s next destination is still unclear but a return to Gor Mahia could revive his career just like back in 2018 when he had an unsuccessful short stint with KF Tirana.
