There have been calls for Rubiales, 46, to be removed from his position as head of the RFEF.

The Spanish Women’s League, Liga F, has already filed a complaint with the National Sports Council, CSD, calling for his immediate removal.

In a statement on Wednesday evening via FUTPRO, a union for female footballers in Spain, Jenni confirmed she would be pursuing action against Rubiales.

Hermoso’s statement was brief and read, “My FUTPRO union, in coordination with my TMJ agency, are taking charge of defending my interests and being the interlocutors on this matter.”

FUTPRO described the behavior of Rubiales as "acts that should never go unpunished" and said it would work to "sanction and adopt measures to protect the players against actions we believe are unacceptable."
