Jamaican Olympic medallist fails doping test, faces possibility of a 4-year ban

Tokyo Olympics 110m Hurdles bronze medallist Ronald Levy may face a four-year ban after his B sample tests returned positive for two banned substances.

The Jamaican speed hurdler was notified on November 2nd by the Jamaica Anti-doping Commission, JADCO that his A sample by the WADA lab in Canada from his Out of Competition (OCT) test showed adverse analytical findings, which Levy rejected and asked to have a test done on his B sample and has now come back positive.

Traces of the two banned substances reportedly found in the sample are GW 501516- SULFOXIDE and GW501516 SULFONE, which appear on the WADA banned list, and aid with the rapid reduction of triglycerides, otherwise known as fat.

Levy now faces a hearing and the possibility of a four-year ban. He is also a 2018 Commonwealth champion and has a Personal Best of 13.05s.
