"It's different here" - Amorim speaks on facing Arsenal's new signing Gyokeres
Arsenal completed the signing of Gyokeres last month after several weeks of finding a solution with Sporting Cp.
The Swedish international was signed for a fee worth €63.5million (£54.8m, $74.2m) fixed upfront fee plus €10m (£8.6m, $11.7m) in add-ons and signed a five-year contract at the Emirates.
Amorim on Gyokeres
With Manchester United facing Arsenal in the opening weekend of Premier League action, journalists asked the Portuguese manager about the Swedish striker he knows so well, and even tried to bring to Manchester.
When questioned about whether his former player is ready for the switch to a more physical and competitive league, Amorim deferred to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
“That's a question for Mikel. The Premier League is a different league for Viktor. Sporting has a good scouting network, it's a club that relies heavily on buying and selling players.
"I think he’s a very good player, so it’s no surprise to me to see him at a big club in England,” Amorim noted, as reported by Abola.
