It is a big lie — Antonio Conte fires shots at Chelsea ahead of managerial return
Conte has made it clear that he would love to take over a club that has "recently won" in a clear dig at some of his previous employers.
The former Juventus boss has been unemployed since March when he parted ways with Tottenham after labelling some of the players "selfish" and openly criticising the decision makers.
Conte fires shots at Chelsea
“One day I would like to coach a team that has recently won,” Conte said at an event organised by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“For example, I took Chelsea coming off a seventh place, Juve after seventh, and When I hear people say that history doesn’t count, for me it’s a big lie.
“When there is history, even if there is dust on it, the winning mentality you find and the path becomes less complicated.
“When you win you understand what victory brings, being celebrated and writing history; then you want to repeat yourself and struggle to accept defeat.”
Conte has recently been linked to the Napoli job but Rudi Garcia remains in charge for now.
