‘I want to become a key figure’ - Maduka Okoye makes his ambition for Udinese clear
The Super Eagles goalkeeper recently rejoined the Udinese team after completing his suspension.
He was suspended for a few months after being found guilty of getting involved in a betting-related offence.
He made his first appearance of the season on October 20 and has gone on to make six consecutive league starts.
Okoye speaks on his ambition
Speaking to DAZN before his team's Serie A match against Bologna, the Super Eagles goalkeeper shared his determination to solidify his position at the club.
After reclaiming his starting role, the former Sparta Rotterdam player is focused on elevating his game. Last season, he recorded four clean sheets in 25 Serie A appearances.
When questioned about his personal objectives, Okoye made his intentions clear. "I want to become a key figure for Udinese," he stated, as reported by CalcioNews24.
"I want to help the team, be decisive when needed, and prove every day why I’m here. My goal is to constantly progress and give my all for these colours."
Okoye was part of Nigeria's squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
However, he did not feature in either match, as coach Eric Chelle preferred Chippa United's Stanley Nwabali.
