FUFA releases Bright Vuni from Arua Hill over unpaid salaries
Arua Hill SC defender Bright Vuni has successfully petitioned the FUFA Dispute Resolution Chamber over his contract status at the club.
FUFA declared the defender a free agent following Arua Hill’s failure to defend itself in the case in which Vuni accused the club of failing to pay his salaries for eight months.
Bright Vuni becomes the latest player to exit the club in the stormy transfer window that has seen several players exit the club.
In a document dated July 4, FUFA brought an end to the defender’s battle to leave the club officially.
According to the FUFA committee, Arua Hill failed to defend itself over the matter thus acknowledging the complainant’s concerns.
“The members of the panel noted that non-payment of renumeration particularly if it goes on for a long time may constitute just cause for termination of contract,” the document reads.
“It was noted that the club did not dispute this (non-payment of salaries) and neither was any evidence submitted to indicate that the club sent any notice to the player requiring him to return to the club.”
Vuni signed a four-year-employment contract with the club in 2021 valid till August 2025.
However, frustrations over non-payment of salaries forced the defender to seek for greener pastures.
In a related development, another Arua Hill player, Innocent Media has dragged the club to the same committee seeking redress over contractual issues.
Media seeks a move away from the club as a free agent while the club maintains he has a running contract.
