Ex-Chelsea midfielder hoping to win Champions League or Scudetto with AC Milan
Former Chelsea midfielder Reuben Loftus Cheek has set lofty ambitions for himself and his AC Milan teammates after suggesting that the club should be aiming to win major honours.
Loftus-cheeks' lofty ambitions
Loftus-Cheek joined AC Milan from Chelsea this summer having won the Premier League, Europa League, and European Super Cup with the Blues and is keen on continuing his winning tradition in Milan.
The 27-year-old midfielder met with fans of AC Milan at the city centre and provided some insight into expectations for the Rossoneri this campaign.
He was quoted by Sky Italia as saying, “As a team and individuals, we always have to aim high. As AC Milan, we need to think about winning, whether it be winning the Champions League or the Scudetto. For me and for the team, we want to win every game that we play.”
AC Milan to challenge for titles this season
AC Milan faltered in Serie A last season after winning the Scudetto the season before and struggled to reach the UEFA Champions League qualifying places by hanging on to fourth place.
They were also within dreaming distance of the UEFA Champions League before getting knocked out in the semifinal by neighbouring rivals Inter.
In the 2023/24 season, despite the resurgence of Juventus and the continued threat of Napoli and Inter, Milan will once again try to climb the pedestals that their history fans demand.
