Despite Manchester United’s stuttering start to the Premier League campaign, manager Erik ten Hag is not expecting reinforcements this January transfer window.

The Dutch coach arrived from the Netherlands last summer, and although his main target, Frenkie de Jong, could not be prised away from Barcelona, the club has backed him considerably.

Since Ten Hag’s arrival, Manchester United have made significant outlays, bringing in the likes of Antony, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Casemiro and Mason Mount.

What Ten Hag said 

Despite the big spending, however, the Manchester United squad still leaves a lot to be desired, but Ten Hag does not expect the club to open the kitty this winter transfer window.

 “I don’t think we will sign players - and if so, the approach from United should be that if you can improve your team, then you should do so,” he told @AndyMitten, per Fabrizio Romano.
