Dessers impressive as Rangers go top of SPL
Super Eagles striker Cyril Dessers continues to impress with Rangers after another important performance in the Scottish sides 2-0 win over Ross County.
Dessers impressive in Rangers win
The 28-year-old forward assisted both of Rangers’ goals in their UEFA Champions League playoff tie against PSV and was superb again as they won their second consecutive Scottish Premier League fixture.
Although Dessers could not get on the scoresheet against Ross County, the forward was a constant bother to the opponents’ defence, threatening to score on a number of occasions and creating chaos that his teammates profited off.
The former Cremonese and Feyenoord forward created two chances against Ross County and fired four shots on goal, with two of those being on target.
Roofe and Tavanier see Rangers past Ross County
In the end, goals from Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier were enough to earn Rangers the win as they made it two victories from their opening three SPL matches.
The win sees them top of the SPL standings after three games, although they have played a game more than most sides.
Next up for Rangers is the second leg of their UCL qualification play-off against PSV, with the tie finely balanced after a 2-2 draw in the first leg.
Expect Dessers, who has scored twice and provided three assists in his first seven games with Rangers, to star once again for as the Scottish side chase a place in the UCL group stage.
