During his first stint at Marseille, Aubameyang had a stellar season, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches, while also performing well in the Europa League with 10 goals and 3 assists in 13 appearances.

"I expected something from the fans; I'd been following social media. But honestly, not this much enthusiasm. I'm very happy and will be eternally grateful for this," Aubameyang said during his presentation at OM this Friday, via Sportal.

"I've always maintained good contact with the management and players. I spoke with sporting director Mehdi Benatia and president Pablo Longoria. They didn't need to convince me; I watched the matches last season. It was a quick decision.
