Joao Felix joined the Blues from Atletico Madrid on a six-month loan deal with Chelsea paying up to £16m in both loan fees and wages.
That represented a huge outlay for the 23-year-old who had struggled to really make his mark at Atletico Madrid and failed to see eye to eye with Diego Simeone over playing time.
Chelsea looking to make Felix deal permanent
The loan deal does not include an option to buy which means for Chelsea to make his arrival permanent, they must negotiate with Atletico Madrid.
After being sent off on his debut, Felix sat out three games before making a long-awaited return to the team with a goal against West Ham.
João Félix was directly involved in 5 of Chelsea's 12 shots (3 shots, 2 chances created) vs West Ham today. ✨

He was sharp, lively and incisive throughout that game and once again in the midweek Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
According to 90min football, negotiations have already begun between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid regarding a permanent transfer.
Felix' price could be an issue for Chelsea
The eventual price might be a stumbling block as Atletico are believed to be looking to recoup atleast £100 million for Felix.
The Blues will be hoping they can negotiate a lower fee but it could be a situation that drags on deep into the summer as both sides will be looking for the best deal possible.
Christopher Nkunku has already agreed to join from RB Leipzig at the end of the season as the Chelsea Heirachy continue their rebuild of the club under the stewardship of manager, Graham Potter.
