The Gunners, despite having a relatively successful campaign last season with Ramsdale in goal, signed David Raya on loan from Brentford—an upgrade on the England international based on statistics.

Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta went on to bench the former Sheffield United goalkeeper this past weekend, and as Pulse Sports reported, he stated that he will rotate the goalkeepers regularly.

Arteta’s desire for the utility of goalkeepers in his team could be tough to pull out, as Top players in the position want to be number one and play as many games as possible, if not all.

Ramsdale’s feet might soon start to itch, leading him to search for more stable and assured game time elsewhere. Chelsea and Bayern Munich are said to be keeping an eye out.

The Blues recently made two signings in the position this summer, Robert Sanchez from Brighton and Djordje Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution, neither of whom has the current profile of Ramsdale.

With Manuel Neuer still out and Yann Sommer moving to Inter this summer, they have had to back deputy Sven Ulreich. They are expected to still be in the market for a permanent option, and they are now said to be eyeing the Arsenal man.
