Bukayo Saka: Arsenal star joins Fabregas and Wilshere in prestigious club
Arsenal's star, Bukayo Saka, has received the prestigious PFA Young Player of the Year Award for his exploits in the past campaign.
The 21-year-old star led the Arsenal frontline to a Premier League title charge. Although they lost the title to Manchester City, the England international forward’s performances left a mark that earned him plaudits.
Saka’s 2022/23 campaign
The British-Nigerian winger had an impeccable personal campaign last season, scoring and assisting as Arsenal took Pep Guardiola’s side to the wire.
Saka hit the rare double-figure mark in goals and assists in the Premier League, scoring 14 goals while notching 11 assists.
Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, and Harry Kane for Tottenham had more goal contributions in the Premier League last season than the young winger.
Saka joins prestigious club
Bukayo's winning the PFA Young Player of the Year Award trophy makes him only the third Arsenal player to have won it.
He joins Cesc Fabregas, who won it for the 2007/08 season, and Jack Wilshere, who won for the 2010/11 campaign, as Arsenal players who have won the award this century.
