Barcelona target Gundogan provides fresh update on Man City future after FA Cup victory
Manchester City's captain, Ilkay Gundogan, answered questions on his continuation at the club moments after leading them to an FA Cup triumph over cross-town rivals Manchester United.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who joined the Manchester club from Dortmund seven years ago, sees his contract expire at the end of the season.
However, he has yet to agree on an extension with the club, while attracting interest from clubs like Barcelona.
What Gundogan said
The German continued his heroics in key games for Guardiola's men, as his brace handed them a 2-1 victory in the cup final.
Still basking in the euphoria of their achievement, he was asked about his City future, implying they are still in negotiations. He replied that nothing had been decided.
He said he felt appreciated by the club and felt special. Still, with the end of the season fast approaching and an agreement yet to be met, Gundogan might be lifting his last set of trophies in the sky blue of Manchester City.
"I don't need these kind of days to feel appreciated and feel special in this club. I know that and that is why I have been here seven years. Nothing is decided yet, we will see what will happen," he said per the BBC.
