Barcelona's board of directors has unanimously approved a €7 million guarantee to La Liga to register their unregistered players, according to Catalan media reports.
This will cover the €7 million deficit caused by a discrepancy in Barcelona's accounting from last season.
The need for the guarantee arose because the funds the club expects from the sale of VIP seats at the renovated Camp Nou and the sponsorship deal with DR Congo haven't been approved yet.
If La Liga accepts the guarantee, it will allow the registration of at least four players: new signings Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, as well as re-signed Wojciech Szczesny and Gerard Martin.
Rooney Bardghji, Marc Bernal, and Hector Fort are also unregistered but could be formally listed with the club's reserve team if necessary.
Registering goalkeepers Garcia and Szczesny is the most urgent matter as Barca's first La Liga match of the new season is on Sunday, away to Mallorca.
Currently, the only available goalkeeper for this match is Iñaki Peña, who didn't play a single minute in the Catalans' preseason friendlies.
