Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix offered to Newcastle
The Portuguese failed to make an impact at Chelsea after he was brought in on loan in January due to their abysmal performance.
The Atletico Madrid forward only scored four goals in 16 appearances for the Blues as they finished 12th in the Premier League table.
The forward has returned to Atletico Madrid after his loan spell ended and has now been offered to Newcastle who are yet to declare any interest in him.
Pochettino decide not to retain Felix
According to Daily Mail one of Mauricio Pochettino's first significant decisions as Chelsea's new head coach was to decide against retaining Felix after his loan stint at Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese forward, who had intended to stay at Chelsea, is now in a precarious situation as a result of the new manager's decision. The 23-year-old fell out with manager Diego Simeone which led to his loan move to Chelsea in January with the Spanish club already looking to replace him.
His loan spell with Chelsea failed to impress new manager Pochettino so he decided to do away with the Portuguese.
No interest declared yet by Newcastle
Newcastle United are yet to declare any interest in Joao Felix after he was offered to them by Atletico Madrid.
One of the stumbling blocks that could put Newcastle away is his wages and manager Eddie Howe has said that “We're not huge players of wages in the Premier League, so the big clubs will all dwarf us in terms of that. That makes it hard to attract the very, very best players on the market.”
Newcastle are also looking to bolster their squad and buy quality players for next season after securing a Champions League spot.
The likes of Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mason Mount and others have all been linked with a possible move to St. James' Park.
