2024 BET Awards: Sha'Carri Richardson bags nomination for Sportswoman of the Year

World's fastest woman Sha'Carri Richardson has earned another prestigious nomination for the 2024 BET Awards Sportswoman of the Year.

The American track star was listed alongside seven other successful athletes: A'ja Wilson, Angel Reese, Coco Gauff, Flau'jae Johnson, Juju Watkins, Naomi Osaka, and Simone Biles.

It's the third consecutive year Richardson will be nominated, having lost to Tennis star Osaka in 2022 and Basketball sensation Reese in 2023.

This time, the speedster has a better chance of winning as she is the reigning world 100m champion, thus earning the bragging rights of the world's fastest woman and currently the face of track and field.

Off-track, Richardson has also been very famous and influential, signing mouth-watering deals with multi-billion dollar companies as well as top brand collaborations - the latest being her Paris Olympic discussion with Cardi B.

With the odds in her favour this year, hopefully, she'll finally get to win it and become the first track and field athlete to gain such recognition in history.
