KCB failed to win an eighth straight league match when they were forced into a goalless draw by Murang’a Seal on Sunday.

KCB extended their winless run in the FKF Premier League to eight matches following a goalless draw with Murang’a Seal at the Kenya Police Sacco grounds on Sunday.

None of the teams really threatened with the Bankers coming closer after nine minutes when the Murang’a Seal goalkeeper Bonphas Munyasa was forced into a brilliant save from a corner.

The visitors then had a good opportunity after 21 minutes when Yusuf Ali got past his marker before setting up Erick Balecho but the forward’s attempt on goal was blocked.

Balecho then dribbled past his markers before finding Titus Kapchanga but the midfielder fluffed his lines in the 37th minute with the first half ending goalless.

However, 10 minutes after the break, Robert Mudenyu had a chance to break the deadlock for Juma Abadallah’s men after connecting well with a corner from Balecho but his header narrowly missed the target.

KCB had a rare chance from Collins Neto but the former Muhoroni Youth striker failed to trouble Munyasa when put through on goal.

With 10 minutes to go, the Bankers employed time-wasting tactics to run the clock down with goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo booked for this.

The draw extends KCB’s winless run to eight matches in the league, their last victory coming on December 16 last year when they beat Kenya Police 2-1.

It is mounts pressure on coach Bernard Mwalala who was brought in to try and push for the league title as his team now sit 10th in the standings, 20 behind leaders Gor Mahia, having been third in December.
