Malawi has unveiled local-based players squad with eight Nyasa Big Bullets players for Four-Nations Tournament.

Malawi has unveiled its local-based provisional squad setting the stage for a highly anticipated clash in the Four-Nations Tournament that will see Kenya's Harambee Stars, alongside Zambia and Zimbabwe, battling it out in Blantyre and Lilongwe from March 18-26, 2024.

The tournament, hosted by Malawi at the Bingu National Stadium, is part of the FIFA window, providing an invaluable opportunity for teams to fine-tune their strategies ahead of crucial qualifying campaigns.

Under the guidance of coach Patrick Mabedi, the Malawi team boasts a strong contingent, including eight players from the renowned Nyasa Big Bullets, the club of Kenya international Clyde Senaji.

The inclusion of such talents underscores the depth and quality Malawi is bringing to the tournament, signaling tough competition for the Harambee Stars and other participants.

Malawi squad is a blend of experience and emerging talent, featuring notable names like the goalkeeping duo Innocent Nyasulu and Austin Chirambo, and defenders Mark Lameck and Dannie Chimbalanga.

Midfield dynamism is assured with players such as Chrispin Mapemba and Wisdom Mpinganjira, while the striking force includes Olson Kanjira and Christopher Kumwembe, among others.

The team will commence their preparations on Sunday, embarking on a two-week camp in Blantyre before relocating to Lilongwe on March 15.

"This is a FIFA window, and all players are available for selection. After March 15, the coach will then include the foreign-based players as they move to Lilongwe for the tournament," shared FAM Communications Director Gomezgani Zakazaka.

For the Harambee Stars, this tournament is not just another fixture but a critical part of their preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

Coming off a convincing 5-0 victory against Seychelles in their last World Cup qualifier, the Harambee Stars are looking to maintain their momentum and gauge their readiness against formidable opponents.
