LeBron James’ Agent Reiterates Stance on Lakers Superstar’s Future
Despite growing speculation surrounding LeBron James' future, sources from both the Los Angeles Lakers and the league have made it clear: the four-time NBA champion has not requested a trade or a buyout, according to The Athletic.
According to multiple reports, James doesn't intend to leave Los Angeles. His agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, addressed the situation in June with an attention-grabbing statement.
"LeBron knows the Lakers are building for the future and he wants to compete for a championship," Paul told The Athletic.

"We understand the complexities of winning now while preparing for the future. We want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage of his life and career... We really value the eight years we've had with Jeanie (Buss) and Rob (Pelinka) and consider the Lakers a critical part of his legacy."
James is entering into his 23rd year in the NBA and has been with the Lakers since 2018, an seven-year spell that has seen him win just one title.
The four-time NBA champion is getting into the final years of his career and is hoping to sign off in style although the Lakers do not have what can be described as a championship winning team, even if Luka Donic has just signed a lucrative three-year contract.
