Like Okocha, Like Ajibade

Ajibade came on at halftime for Crystal Dunn in PSG’s first league clash of the season at RC Lens on Saturday.

The 25-year-old decided to go with the number 10 jersey, a number synonymous with Okocha during his time with PSG’s male football team.

Like Ajibade, Okocha also wore the number 10 jersey during his four-year stint in Paris before moving to Bolton.

The former Super Eagles captain lit up the Parc des Princes and was a cult hero during his time at the club.

Okocha made 84 league appearances for the French giants, scoring 12 goals and setting up another five. Ajibade will now hope to replicate the same feat or even do more for the PSG women’s team.

Ajibade, Echegini help PSG to a draw

The Super Falcons captain joined the Première Ligue side this summer after her contract with Liga F giants Atlético Madrid expired.

Ajibade’s PSG debut is already off to a decent start as she helped the side to a 1-1 draw against Lens.

The former Atletico Madrid was not the only Nigerian who featured in the match, as Jennifer Echegini was also in action for Paulo César’s men.

PSG, who are hoping to dethrone defending champions Lyon, took the lead in the 24th minute through Merveille Kanjinga.

However, with six minutes left in the regulation time, Lens rescued a point, courtesy of a strike from Sherly Jeudy.

PSG will now hope to secure their first win of the season when they take on Nantes in a league game that could see Ajibade make her home debut for her new club.
