Ndidi and Iheanacho feature as Leicester City suffer defeat against Nottingham Forest
Nigeria stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho both featured for Leicester City in their 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in their Premier League clash at City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Ndidi played the game from start to finish while Iheanacho came on in the second half for Marc Albrighton.
Contrasting fortunes for Ndidi and Iheanacho
Ndidi gave a decent performance with 77 touches and seven successful long balls to his name. He also won five ground duels and made one clearance.
Meanwhile, Iheanacho had a subpar performance in the 22 minutes he played. The Nigerian was brought on to change the outcome after Leicester had fallen behind.
Forest condemn Leicester to another loss
Forest, who were without their Nigerian stars, started brightly, firing two shots on target to Leicester’s one. But despite their attempts, both teams went into the break with the scores tied.
However, ten minutes into the second half, Brenan Johnson put Forest ahead after rounding Danny Ward following a ball from Morgan Gibbs White.
Leicester manager reacted by bringing on Iheanacho for Albrighton, but the change had no effect as Johnson doubled Forest’s advantage five minutes from time to give the home side a 2-0 win.
The win lifts Forest to 13th on the table with 20 points from 19 games. Meanwhile, Leicester dropped to 14th on the table with 17 points from the same number of games.
Next up Forest is a clash against Bournemouth while Leicester will take on Brighton.
