Lookman joins Atalanta’s four-star club
Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has joined a special group of players after scoring twice in Atalanta’s 3-3 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.
Lookman had been a man on fire in the last eight days after scoring a brace against Salernitana and Spezia. The Nigerian international continued in the same vein as he scored twice against Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
Lookman is Juventus' nemesis
Lookman opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute, firing a shot that Wojciech Szczesny failed to deal with.
Di Maria restored parity for Juventus from the penalty spot before Arkadiusz Milik put the home side ahead just before the break.
However, Atalanta hit back immediately after the break as Lookman set up Joakim Maehle before the Nigerian put the away side back in front with a fantastic header.
Although Danilo’s stunning freekick denied Atalanta the three points, Lookman had something to celebrate.
With the brace, the Nigerian became just the fourth Atalanta player to score ten or more goals after 19 league games in his debut season.
Lookman's special club
Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig this season and has already scored 11 goals in 18 league games.
The former Leicester man is now the outright second-highest scorer in the Italian top flight this season with 11 league goals.
Only Victor Osimhen, Lookman’s countryman, has scored more goals in Serie A this campaign, with 13 goals to his name.
Lookman will hope to continue his impressive form when Atalanta host Sampdoria next in the league.
