Despite rumours of a departure, the Reds are reportedly taking steps to agree on fresh terms with one key player.

Liverpool have offered Virgil van Dijk a new contract in an attempt to secure the short-term future of their captain.

While talks with Salah have yet to yield a formal offer, the Reds have taken the initiative with Van Dijk, presenting him with a proposal to extend his stay at Anfield, per the Athletic.

However, the offer reportedly fell short of the Dutchman’s expectations, and negotiations are ongoing.
