Jamaican sprint sensation Usain Bolt has shared a video updating his fans one year after losing millions to a Kingston-based investment firm.

At a time like this last year, double world record holder Usain Bolt was left in a state of shock after realising that $12.7 million (more than a billion Kenyan shillings) was missing from an account he had with Kingston-based investment firm Stocks and Securities.

At the time, Bolt was informed that there was only about Ksh 1,914,000 remaining in the account which was part of Bolt’s retirement and lifetime savings.

Going down memory lane, the Jamaican sprinting sensation shared an emotional message on his social media handles explaining how it felt, one year after losing such a huge amount of money.

He did not directly mention the case anywhere in the video but considering the time he shared the video, he was clearly referring to the fraud issue.

In the video, Bolt said: “Yow peeps, so it's been one year,” he stated in his Jamaican lingo. "Just want unnu know seh mi still deh ya, still a fight the fight, still a hold on, always a go stay strong.

"Yuh know how the country yutes do it (Just want you to know I’m still here, fighting the fight and holding on. I’m trying to stay strong. To all the people that support me, continue your support. One love.”

After the incident, Jamaica’s Financial Services Commission announced that it had installed its temporary manager at the Stocks and Securities Limited. As reported by Fortune, SSL did not immediately respond to calls and emails requesting comment.

Up to date, questions still arise as to whether Bolt’s case is being handled and even whether there has been any progress made.

As reported by Sports Brief, one former SSL employee, Jean-Ann Panton, was seized last year and made a written confession, admitting to defrauding several clients. However, Bolt’s name was not listed among her victims.
