Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and the Super Eagles trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Cyriel Dessers, and Olawoyin Ibrahim all appear in this issue of the Naija Stars Abroad.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker was involved in the build up to that incident as it was a loose ball from his initial effort that led to teammate Dries Mertens’ dive.
In Germany, it was a case of dropped points for Boniface and Nathan Tella after Bayer Leverkusen were held to a goalless affair by Wolfsburg.
After his heroics in the DFB Pokal against Cologne in midweek, the talented Boniface was rewarded with a start in the game against Wolves but was expertly caged throughout his time on the pitch.
Fantastic Falcons
Meanwhile, with the Super Eagles big boys silent, Super Falcons were superbly represented by the likes of Ashleigh Plumptre, Gift Monday and Risola Babajide.
Plumptre and her compatriot Francisca Ordega were the inspiration as giants Al-Ittihad thrashed Al Amal 3-0 in the Saudi Women’s League.
The Nigerian duo were involved in all the goals, Ordega assisted two of them while Plumptre wrapped things up with the third goal of the match.
In Spain’s Liga-F, it was another all-Nigerian show as Gift and Risola Babajide inspired Tenerife to a remarkable comeback victory at Valencia.
Risola started the comeback trail when he penalty cancelled out Valencia’s early opener before Falcons teammates Gift sealed the deal with the winner in added time.
Other Naija Stars Abroad
Elsewhere, the Dele-Bashiru brothers, Fisayo and Tom, were in fine form for their respective clubs.
Fisayo wrapped up Lazio’s 5-1 win against Monza from the bench in the Serie A while his elder brother, Tom, helped Watford to a share of the spoils in the Championship after a 2-2 draw at Sunderland.
Wilfred Ndidi showed Leicester City what they had missed after playing his first game since December 8, 2024.
The Super Eagles defensive midfielder put on a solid display in the FA Cup against Manchester United, playing just under an hour before he was substituted with the game tied at 1-1.
Samuel Chukwueze was an unused substitute in AC Milan's latest win while the reliable Moses Simon could not stop Nantes from a home defeat to Brest in the Ligue 1.
Alex Iwobi was also a substitute in Fulham's FA Cup win against Wigan, but fellow Nigerian Calvin Bassey was rested for the successful trip.
